Emergency Communications

There are a number of services that HAM/Amateur Radio operators participate for Emergency Communications (EMCOMM).

ARES, Amateur Radio Emergency Services requires a general if not certified understanding National Incident Management System (NIMS). All government agencies use the NIMS systems methodology. RACES, Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service is a public service that is performed during a time of extraordinary needs of the government agencies, but typically communications. A good read on what is races is found at https://www.qsl.net/races/what.html.

Dauphin County ARES/RACES is not affiliated with any club, all are welcome.
